Are you living with purpose?
I imagine that most of us want to live our lives with meaning. We want to believe in what we are doing and make a positive impact in the world.
But at the same time, we have to pay the bills and make ends meet. Sometimes it might feel like we are just getting by rather than living with purpose.
Maybe you feel like God is calling you to do something but you’re not sure what that “something” is. Maybe you know your purpose but aren’t quite sure how to live it out.
We want to help!
The mission of our church is all about people connecting people to Christ and their unique role in God’s mission.
Every follower of Jesus has a general call on their life. We are all called to make disciples, live holy lives, humbly serve, and love sacrificially. However, we all might do that a little differently based on our skills, experience, and personality.
Check out what the apostle Paul says in Ephesians 2:10:
"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (NIV)
The Greek word for “handiwork” here is poiēma. It's the same word we get “poem” from, and it refers to a work of art or a masterpiece. That word is only used in reference to God’s divine creation in the bible. God’s people are like a work of art – unique, different, and beautiful – AND he created us for the different good works he prepared for us. This isn't a millennial snowflake thing – it’s biblical!
So how exactly do we live out our unique role in God’s mission?
Joining us for DiscipleStory is a great place to start! Over the course of 2 days, we will gather to think, pray, and reflect on how God might bring together our passions, skills, and experience to make disciples.
DiscipleStory will be hosted at the NC campus on the evening of Friday, March 28th, and during the day on Saturday, March 29th.
At the end, you’ll leave with a personal call, statement, and practical plan to take the next steps of faith. If you’re looking to uncover purpose and meaning in everyday life, this can be a great place to start!
You can register for this event here. There is a cost that covers meals for the event.
I hope to see you there!
Sincerely,
Taylor Nixon, Campus Pastor
