From Our Associate Pastor

Hey, Crosspoint, Bluewater Bay!

What a wonderful Easter Sunday! Thank you for being part of such a meaningful celebration of the most important day in history—the resurrection of Jesus, our Lord. I’m also deeply grateful to our staff and the incredible team of volunteers who worked so hard to make the day truly excellent.

Do you remember some of the key takeaways from our 5-week “IYKYK” sermon series? In 1 John, we were reminded that the evidence of genuine faith is seen in two primary ways: our love for others and our obedience to God’s commands. John reassures us that if we believe in Christ and hold to the true gospel—not the distortions of false teachers—then we can have confidence that we are God’s children, empowered by the presence of the Holy Spirit.

That message is just as relevant today as it was in the first century. Like John’s original audience, we can sometimes wrestle with doubts—wondering if we’re truly saved, questioning whether we’re doing enough, or trying to discern whether a persuasive voice is genuinely from God. John’s words point us back to truth and assurance rooted in Christ.

My hope and prayer are that you’ll continue to engage regularly with Scripture and stay connected in Christian community. These rhythms help us grow closer to God and allow the fruit of our faith to be clearly seen in our everyday lives.

On a personal note, this Sunday will be my last Sunday serving as the official Associate Pastor at Crosspoint, Bluewater Bay. While I’ll still be around in a volunteer (and retired!) capacity, this marks a meaningful transition. Our leadership team has been prayerfully seeking the right person to step into this role, and I’m confident that God is preparing someone exceptional. Please pray that God sends the right person for the position. I’m especially grateful that I’ll be able to help provide continuity as the next Associate Pastor leads the campus into an exciting new season.

Here are a few upcoming events to mark on your calendar:

  • April 11 – Hunger Run/Walk (5K & 10K) & Kids Fun Run
There’s still time to participate in this great event supporting Niceville Caring & Sharing!
  • April 12 – Discover Crosspoint
    11:00 AM in Room 203
  • April 18 – Community Serve Day
We’re hosting a military appreciation day and would love your help!
  • April 19 – Baptism Sunday
Interested in taking this important next step in your faith? See Billy or me—we’d love to talk with you. (And yes, the water will be warm!)

Thank you for being such a vital part of this church family. I’ve loved working alongside Billy and look forward to continuing in my new capacity!
