"ANCIENT MIXTAPE"

Did you know Jesus quoted songs a lot…well, Psalms at least? The Psalms were the worship songs for the Israelites, and Jesus quotes from Psalms more than any other Old Testament book. So, if Jesus thought the Psalms were important, we probably should know more about them as well. Join us this Summer and learn how the different kinds of songs Jesus grew up with can still guide us through our different seasons with God and in life.

MAY PRESCHOOL FOCUS | TO THE RESCUE

When given the opportunity, preschoolers are ready and willing to help because it shows the world they are big and can do things that matter. Need help stirring in the kitchen? Preschoolers to the rescue! Need help carrying groceries? Preschoolers to the rescue! Need help entertaining a fussy baby? Preschoolers to the rescue! Could it be that the real reason preschoolers want to help is that God made them to help? We think so! That is why we will be spending this month answering the question “Who made you to help?” God made me to help! That’s who! After all, God is the ultimate helper, and we are all made in God’s image.

MAY ELEMENTARY FOCUS | RAISE YOUR GAME - PLAY WITH CONFIDENCE

We might try to base our confidence on what we do well, or what someone might say about us. But true confidence should be built on something different. We think it’s found in understanding how God is both big enough to create the universe, but also close enough to be right here with us. We know that we can trust God no matter what. We are rated in God’s image. And God loves us so much! Nowhere is this more evident than in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. And, when we trust Jesus with our life, the Holy Spirit is there to help us face whatever comes our way. We can respond to God’s love and care with confidence!

MISSION OF THE WEEK | STUDENT MISSION TRIP

Next week, 21 students and adults will be traveling to Monterrey, Mexico, on a mission trip to serve vulnerable children with the agency Back2Back.

Did you know it takes close to 50 volunteers every Sunday to create an environment where people can meet Jesus? As God's Church, we couldn't reach people without the amazing volunteers we have. Band members show up early, at 7 am to sound check to make sure worship is excellent, Kids volunteers clean toys and serve hours on end, parking team shows up to setup our parking lot, and so much more.

CELEBRATE RECOVERY 

Celebrate Recovery meets every Thursday! If you are not familiar with Celebrate Recovery, it is a biblical 12 step program. It is a laid out scriptural plan to grow in our relationship with Jesus and become who he is calling us to be by recovering his image in us, by identifying our hurts, hand ups and habits.

We believe connecting people to Christ is the most important mission we have as followers of Jesus and that is what celebrate recovery does. 60% of the attendees come from outside any church which gives an amazing opportunity to minister to the unchurched in our community!
