FAQ
What is Celebrate Recovery?
Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program to help people overcome their hurts, habits, and hang-ups. Whatever is behind the pain in your life, procrastination, guilt, anger, rage, fear, anxiety, divorce, alcohol abuse, perfectionism, insecurity, overspending, overworking, overeating, grief, abuse, drugs, codependency, sexual addictions, hypochondria, hurtful relationships, gambling, lying or the need to control? Celebrate Recovery helps you face and resolve the problem behind the pain.
Who is it for?
Anyone and everyone.
What age groups are appropriate for participation?
Ages 18 and above for the adult program. We also have Celebration Place for K-5th grade students and The Landing for 6th-12th grade students.
Why do I need to attend?
We have all hurt ourselves, we’ve all hurt other people, and others have hurt us. This means each of us needs to heal from the effects these hurts have on us and from the control they have in our lives.
What will it do for me?
Celebrate Recovery will provide a safe place for you to begin to work on issues that have been keeping you trapped and separated from the life that God intended for you to live and, in some cases, things that have kept you separated from God.
How often will it meet?
Celebrate Recovery meets every Tuesday night.
What does a typical evening look like?
- Large group worship and teaching begins at 6:00 p.m. Everyone meets together for a time of worship then a teaching or a testimony in the Fellowship Hall. There is no pre-registration or sign-ups. Upon arrival you will be greeted by someone who will help you become acclimated.
- Small gender-specific Open Share groups begin at 7:00 p.m.This is the time to break into recovery specific groups and share and hear from others with similar hurts, habits, and hang-ups.

How do I get in?
You do not have to sign up; just show up!

We encourage casual and comfortable.

How much does it cost?
There is not a sign-up fee.
How long does it last?
Though Celebrate Recovery is not a “course”; the structure of the teaching on Tuesday night repeats every year. This way you can begin anytime.
What materials are used and how much do they cost?
Materials available are: Celebrate Recovery Bible – $20.00, Celebrate Recovery Journal – $10.00, Celebrate Recovery Devotionals – $15.00; Participant’s Guides – $5.00 each. There are no mandatory purchases. More information is available at the resource table on Tuesday nights.
Are there groups for men and women?
The small groups are gender-specific.
Do I have to stand up and speak before a group of people?
No. There is no pressure, or requirement, to share.
Who are the leaders qualified for this type of ministry?
Like you, the leaders are people who are recovering from the hurts, habits, and hang-ups in their lives. They have completed the participant’s guides, have received the recommended training for leadership in Celebrate Recovery, remain accountable in their specific area of recovery, and desire to serve and help others find wholeness, growth, and spiritual maturity
What makes this program different from non-Christ-centered 12-step programs?
Most people are familiar with the classic 12-step programs of AA and other groups. Based on the actual words of Jesus, Celebrate Recovery incorporates the eight recovery principles, found in the Beatitudes, with the 12-steps.
Will there be anonymity for people to share their heartfelt concerns?
Yes. Providing a safe place where anonymity is respected is a priority.
How will I benefit from attending and completing Celebrate Recovery?
The “road to recovery” from our hurts, habits, and hang-ups leads to wholeness, growth, and spiritual maturity. It doesn’t get much better than that.
How can I get involved?
If you desire to serve, there are many different opportunities! Opportunities to serve will be made available at Tuesday night gatherings and through this web site.
What is a step study and where/when do the step studies meet?
The greatest growth and level of accountability takes place in the weekly step studies. Using the Celebrate Recovery participants guides, members of these gender-specific groups study each of the 12-steps and answer and discuss questions at the end of each lesson. (See the Step Studies link for a list of open step study groups).

What is the Serenity Prayer?
by Reinhold Niebuhr
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can,
And the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
enjoying one moment at a time,
Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace;
Taking, as Jesus did,
This sinful world as it is;
Not as I would have it;
Trusting that You will make all things right
If I surrender to Your will; So that I may be reasonably happy in this life
And supremely happy with You forever in the next. AMEN.
