I hope you have loved being in what is referred to as the 5th gospel as much as I have! The book of Isaiah, or as we are calling it, The Gospel According to Isaiah, has been amazing. But one thing that I want to call you attention to is this…
In Isaiah 56, the Lord is speaking to His people through the prophet. In verse 6 he is talking to those who “hold fast to God’s covenant.” God’s people, who hold fast to His covenant will be brought to His holy mountain and He will give them joy in His house of prayer. God then says that His house would be called a house of prayer for all the nations. (v. 7)
Does this sound familiar to you?
In Matthew 21, Jesus overturns some tables in the temple because he states that God’s people have turned His house into “a den of robbers.” If you go back to another prophet by the name of Jeremiah, he calls out God’s people with the same phrase. (7:11)
As you may know, God is very clear about what “His house,” that bears His name should be about. God says that it should be a house of prayer.
We would like to invite you to a special night on which we will be casting vision about what is coming in the fall for us as a church. We are calling July 29 a Vision Gathering for our campus. We will be casting vision for some exciting changes coming in the fall but also a primary component will be prayer. Beginning in the fall we will also offer a once-a-month Prayer Night at our campus where we will offer guided prayer opportunities for you and your family. So, save the date and you will be hearing more very soon!
